"Dry-type tinea" on plantar skin

"Dry-type tinea" on plantar skin. Circular, very superficial scales on plantar skin are almost pathognomonic for tinea pedis caused by the dermatophyte Trichophyton rubrum. The lesions are remnants of superficial vesicles that usually go unnoticed.
